Recipe: Guacamole

This guacamole is always a big hit at parties or when hosting guests.  In fact, I ate this entire bowl in 24 hours after I made it.  This is an easy recipe if you do it the way showed in the video, a bit harder if you decide to chop your own tomatoes, onion, and cilantro.

Ingredients:

3 haas avocados
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 teaspoon salt
1 package (8 oz) of Pico de Gallo (or)
     2 roma tomatoes, diced
    1/2 red onion, diced
    1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
2 cloves of garlic, pressed or minced
A dash of cayenne powder

1.) Core the avocados and mix in a large bowl with the lime juice and salt.  Take a fork or some other instrument to mash the avocados until it looks like green mashed potatoes.

2.) Mix in the Pico de Gallo or the individual ingredients (tomatoes, onions, cilantro).  Mix well

3.) Add Garlic and Cayenne, mix well.

*Note: Don't make this too long before serving or it will turn brown.  Ideally you will make it an hour or two before serving and store it in the fridge while you wait.

  1. I think you should have your own Food Network show: The Headless Chef! You cook meals on TV but you're only seen from the neck-down. And it's a big mystery what you really look like. Kind of like Wilson on Tool Time.

Great recipe, by the way. I'm really wishing I could get my hands on some ripe avocados right now...
