So, on Saturday I am running a 10K called the Cooper River Bridge Run. Some interesting facts:
1.) I haven't had much chance/time to train for this
2.) I have never run a 10K distance at one time in my life
3.) I have only ever run one race in my life
All this to say, my expectations are low, I just want to finish in one hour. That is roughly a 9:50 minute/mile pace. I think I can do. But what helps? My music! It pumps me up and helps me set a pace. I need more good music for running though. Right now, my playlist wont make it 1 hour. So, this is where I need your help. I need suggestions for songs. Please comment on this post and offer suggestions. Right now, I have the following (I like something that has a beat that sets a fast pace, but also has to be bearable)
1.) Dynamite by Taio Cruz
2.) Grenade by Bruno Mars
3.) I Gotta Feeling by Black Eyed Peas
Go It Alone - Beck
ReplyDeletePush It - Salt n Pepa
Til I Collapse - Eminem and Nate Dogg
Accidentally In Love - Counting Crows (from Shrek 2!0
Teenage Dream - Katy Perry
I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho) - Pitbull
Oooh, some of those could be keepers, going to have to look into it tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThink about when you might be starting to get tired or lose energy - maybe mile 4 1/2 - and put a really good "pump you up" song at about that time. It helps me (well, helped me - back when I was actually running more than 2 miles at a time) to think about when I might need the extra jolt of motivation.
